Today's perimeter and situation awareness systems monitor security via deployment of sensors which range from video streams to radar and microwave sensors. Each offers unique surveillance attributes and unique imaging innovations.

Before actionable security intelligence can be interpreted from the images, they must be continuously scanned and analyzed for potential incursions.

This leads to the key problem in almost all security systems available today: sensory overload of personnel monitoring the data input streams! Essentially, most agencies find it uneconomic and impractical to provide the staffing required to monitor dozens of streams of security data continuously and concurrently. Video security systems are commonly practical only for forensic uses - analyzing events after they have happened.

1. Event Processor

Sitting at AWARE's nucleus, the Event Scenario Processor is capable of integrating and correlating a large number of parallel input streams from all the sensors and data sources in a domain.

Uniquely, AWARE cross-examines sensors for common events, providing anomaly validation that greatly reduces false alarms.

2. Geospatial Common Operating Picture (GeoCOP)

The Geospatial common operating picture (GeoCOP) is AWARE's consolidated view to an entire domain. This single image replaces dozens of video screens and, for the first time, allows security personnel to be able to see the big picture around their facility or property.

GeoCOP provides all the intelligence security personnel need with minimal noise and distraction - enabling real-time awareness and timely response.

GeoCOP support multiple layers of information, which can be added and displayed as needed to provide total situational awareness at all times.

3. Real-Time Responder Notification System

The Notification System is AWARE's method of disseminating information to the appropriate respondent (including human personnel and automated systems).

AWARE filters sensor alarms and alerts the most appropriate personnel, according to custom-defined rule sets, including escalation in the case of no-response. AWARE is capable - with or without intervention - of detecting an anomaly, evaluating it and assigning response to the appropriate party.

Responders may use any combination of PDAs, cell phones, pagers, e-mail, radio, etc that may be operating on different frequencies or protocols, typically making communications difficult. AWARE's Rules Processor and Responder Notification System seamlessly ensure essential interoperability of communications across any combination of first responder platforms.

4. Advanced Video Analytics

Breakthroughs in intelligent video analytics now allow certain target classification and behaviors to be identified by software. Once correctly calibrated, AWARE's Video Analytics software has a higher probability of detection than a human observer.

It is now a realistic possibility to have hundreds of cameras and sensors effectively monitored by only a few security professionals.

Intended recipients are able to receive alarm messages on a wide variety of devices, and rollover/escalation policies are available, increasing the likelihood that important and emergent alarm information is received in a prompt and reliable fashion.

Available role-based and rule-based messaging means that proper recipients can either be predetermined, and/or dynamically determined as alarm conditions emerge.

Delivered with a basic email notification, AWARE offers security professionals an array of notification medium options such as radio, cellular, pager, PDA and other portable contact device options.
 

Executive Viewer
 

The AWARE GeoCOP is the pivot point of the AWARE solution providing monitoring personnel a consolidated, dynamic view to the entire security system. Security professionals wishing to access this view remotely or from satellite locations can do so with the Executive Viewer. This option provides a view to the same GeoCOP which is found in the primary operations area, however it is web based and can even be viewed on thin clients such as PDAs.
